Workholding fixtures
A custom workholding fixture can provide a production-ready process based on a standard machine. Automatic clamping, part present sensors, part programming, process drawings and documentation complete the package.
Secondary operations
Adding secondary operations to the deep hole drilling operation can often eliminate additional part handling or entire machines from a manufacturing cell. Cross hole drilling, deburring or conventional machining modules can be integrated with deep hole drilling automation.
Workpiece driven custom equipment
In high volume production of complex work holding, it may be more convenient to bring the machines to a part rather than the part to multiple machines. UNISIG will design complete custom machine to most productively drill engine blocks, crank shafts or other high value production parts.
In-line transfer machines
Very high volume production lends itself to in-line transfer machines. Integrating servo driven gantry systems and shuttle devices allow certain flexiblity into dedicated production systems.
In-process gauging and intelligent machining methods allow families of parts to be drilled on a single machine.
