Counter Boring/ Reaming
- Counter-boring covers large ranges of diameters up to
630mm [24.8 inch].
- Counter-boring enlarges the existing hole that is drilled
or cast.
- Counter-boring tools are available in both push and pull
configurations. These tools may be self piloting (wear
pads supported by finished bore diameter) or when concentricity
is of utmost importance they can be designed to pilot off
of the pre-bore (wear pads supported by the pre-bore diameter).
- While reaming performs the same operations as boring,
the tool geometry of a reaming tool can be different depending
on the tool manufacturers.
