of exotic materials. High temperature materials such as Inconels
and Titanium alloys are commonly seen along with some specific
heat treated Steels and Aluminums. UNISIG provides machines
for drilling precision deep holes into engine components,
landing gear components etc.
All UNISIG B-series BTA machines are capable of being configured for internal profiling or bottle boring required for landing gear production. UNISIG’s growing line of multipurpose boring and turning and bottle boring machines may make it possible to perform multiple operations in one set up.
B-series <6M (20 ft) BTA drilling machines
For bottle boring and drilling of main landing gear cylinders. Precision drilling and forming of smaller landing gear actuation cylinders and components.
B-series >6M (20 ft) large center BTA drilling machines
For bottle boring and drilling of main landing gear cylinders. Precision drilling and forming of smaller landing gear actuation cylinders and components.
UNI series
For precision drilling of smaller on-center holes found in turbine shafts and rotary components such as helicopter parts and crankshafts. Can be configured for use with standard gun drilling or BTA tooling
UNE series express machines
For on-center drilling or off-center with the use of simple fixtures. Ideal for drilling door hinges and smaller parts on and off-center.
USK series knee-type machines
For off-center drilling. Specifically designed to routinely handle Inconel and other exotic materials. Diameter-to-depth ratios of more than 400:1 are possible due to a refined control of the drilling process
